It’s the second Tuesday of the month and I am excited to join Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop. This is such an amazing team and I am so happy to be part of it!

Today, I have a fun fold card for you. I am calling it a double Z fun fold card. If there is a different name for this card, please let me know in the comments below.

To make the base of this card I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Secret Sea card stock. I scored it at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. The Lovely Blossoms piece of DSP that makes the first part of the Z fold was cut at 4″ x 10 1/2″ and scored at 1 1/2″ and 5 1/4″. I used the leftover piece of DSP (4″ x 1 1/2″) on the inside of the card.

The flower on the front of the card is from The Lovely Blossoms DSP sheet of paper shown above. It can be cut and added to card stock to make quick and simple cards. I used three of the pieces for this card. The Happy Birthday sentiment on the front of the card was stamped using the Reason to Celebrate stamp set. It was die cut and framed using the Beautifully Celebrated dies.

I centered two 1 1/2″ x 4″ strips of DPS on the inside of the DSP part of the card. I used the sentiment from The Right Words stamp set and die cut it and the Old Olive mat using circles from the Stylish Shapes dies.

I used the Beautifully Celebrated dies to cut an Old Olive mat for the Lovely Blossoms flower and also cut the DSP with the smaller die. I cut the piece of Old Olive card stock in half and cut off the top and bottom curves so it would create a mat for the sides of the flowers. I sponged the edges of the DSP with Old Olive ink to cover a little bit of white that was showing on the corners.

When creating a mat for the right side, it is important that it is smaller or the same size of the DSP on the front of the card. You want to make sure when the card closes, that you don’t see this panel. I used a piece of Old Olive card stock cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ for the mat and a piece of Basic White card stock cut at 5″ x 3 3/4″.

I stamped the sentiment from the Beautifully Celebrated stamp set with Old Olive ink, and I stamped the flower using the large flower from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set with Petal Pink. I die cut the same flower with a Post-It Note and covered the flower before stamping the leaves using Old Olive ink. I did the same thing for the envelope.

Stay tuned for a post this weekend where I will record myself making this same style card which will include more details on how to put the card together.
